Tips to prevent cats from pooping in mulch

Mulch is used for various purposes, some of them are to help soil retain more heat in spring and autumn season. It also help to control erosion by protect soil from rain and maintain moisture. Organic residues mulch such as shredded wood if often dyed to improve its appearance in the landscape.

However cats like to visit the garden or yard at night and popping in mulch. Pooping in mulch is a bad habit which some cats unfortunately pick up at some point during their lives.

The quick ways to prevent cats from pooping in mulch is by brewing some peppers. Boil some water in a pot. Then add a bulb or two of garlic with hot water and mix with some hot pepper. Leave the mix about 24 to 48 hours. After that fill the mix into a sprayer and spray the area.

Cayenne pepper powder also work best by sprinkle it where cats always smell. They will find both the spray and cayenne irritating and go somewhere else. If rains, reapplied the same way with spray and powder.
